Sheremetiev castle is situated on the banks of the Volga, the main facade is located towards the river. Basil Sheremetev, the founder of the castle, was the grandnephew of the known field marshal Sheremetev of Petrovsky times.
Construction of the castle began in 1874, and in 1916 the last owner, the son of Basil Sheremetyev died.
Most recently, there was an event to enflame general public of Yurino. In the process of laying pipeline near the castle burial was founded. Examination confirmed the identity of the remains to the count's family. One of the descendants, still alive and lives abroad, he visited Yurino, and participated in the reburial of the remains.
Currently in a restored castle, hotels and restaurants are located, tours for tourists to the area around the castle, and in its apartment are guided.
